What happens when one plan has to satisfy three clues at once? Build from Three Clues provides building challenge cards for drawing-based construction ideas. Children consider shape, number and position together, then check their own plan against the complete set of requirements.

Inside Build from Three Clues

Sixteen drawing-based construction plans combine shape, number and position clues. Includes a worked example, correction exercise, sixteen example plans, create-your-own card and caregiver support.

  • 16 three-clue drawing plans.
  • 27 pages per edition, including guides and answer or support pages.
  • Suggested ages 4-8, with adult support.

Alternative drawings may satisfy every clue, so the example plans are references rather than pictures to copy exactly. These activities do not supply structural plans or exact assemblies for a physical construction toy.

How to use this pack

Try the worked example and read all three clues before drawing. Name the shapes and quantities needed, then think about where they belong. Approximate circles, squares, triangles and rectangles are enough; careful reasoning matters more than perfect outlines.

Check the finished plan against each clue separately. Use the correction exercise to notice how a nearly right drawing can miss one requirement. Compare with the sixteen example plans and try the create-your-own card when the child wants to set a challenge for someone else.

Sixteen example plans and correction guidance; alternative drawings may meet all clues.

Materials and safe use

Paper and a pencil. The child draws shape-based construction plans. Circles, squares, triangles and rectangles can be drawn approximately; exact measuring and purchased toys are not required.

These are drawing and planning challenges, not structural plans or exact toy assemblies. Do not build, load or climb structures from these sketches. Follow the age rating and manual for any optional toy play. Adults handle any cutting.

Your files and printing choices

The download ZIP contains four PDF editions plus a README. Each has the same 27 pages. Choose ONE edition to print:

  • A4 Color (210 x 297 mm).
  • A4 Low Ink (210 x 297 mm).
  • US Letter Color (8.5 x 11 inches).
  • US Letter Low Ink (8.5 x 11 inches).

27 pages means pages per edition, not four times that amount of different content. Covers, guides and answer or support pages are included in the page count. The English-language PDFs are printable, not digitally fillable forms.

Open the ZIP, read the README and choose your paper size and color preference. Print selected pages portrait and single-sided. Start at actual size / 100%; check the preview and use fit to printable area if edges clip. You need a ZIP/PDF reader and printer access. Paper, ink and supplies are not included.

Household printing license

The purchasing household may print and reuse these pages with its own children. Files and printed pages may not be sold, redistributed, publicly uploaded, or used as a shared classroom or business resource. For use beyond one household, contact WonderKidsToy through the store before copying.
