Describe a solar model's behavior without turning a quick observation into an unsupported conclusion. Solar Robot Observation Log offers a focused solar energy worksheet and recording pack. Begin with fictional cases on paper, then use the session logs only if your household already has a suitable model and its manual.

Inside Solar Robot Observation Log

Four fictional solar-robot observation cases teach careful notes, followed by six guided session logs for optional adult-supervised observations of an existing suitable model. Includes comparison, next-question and answer pages.

  • 10 practice cases and session logs.
  • 17 pages per edition, including guides and answer or support pages.
  • Suggested ages 7-10, with adult support.

A robot is not supplied or required for the four practice cases. The pack does not teach assembly, wiring, battery conversion or programming, and it makes no compatibility claim for a particular model.

How to use this pack

Work through the four fictional practice cases with paper and pencil. Compare the notes with the included responses, paying attention to the difference between an observation and a claim about why something happened.

The six guided session logs are for optional, adult-supervised observation during normal use of an existing suitable solar toy. Record only what can be observed safely under its exact manual. Use the comparison and next-question pages to reflect on records without modifying the model or devising performance tests.

Four practice-case responses and guidance for open session records; no device-specific operating instructions.

Materials and safe use

Paper and a pencil for the worked cases. Optional: a solar toy already owned, its exact instruction manual and an adult supervising normal, manufacturer-approved use. No robot or power equipment is included.

No assembly, wiring, battery conversion, programming or performance testing is taught here. Do not alter the toy, add power sources, heat it with lamps or use settings its manual does not allow. Never look directly at the sun. Stop if a part is hot, damaged or unsafe and let an adult follow the manual.

Your files and printing choices

The download ZIP contains four PDF editions plus a README. Each has the same 17 pages. Choose ONE edition to print:

  • A4 Color (210 x 297 mm).
  • A4 Low Ink (210 x 297 mm).
  • US Letter Color (8.5 x 11 inches).
  • US Letter Low Ink (8.5 x 11 inches).

17 pages means pages per edition, not four times that amount of different content. Covers, guides and answer or support pages are included in the page count. The English-language PDFs are printable, not digitally fillable forms.

Open the ZIP, read the README and choose your paper size and color preference. Print selected pages portrait and single-sided. Start at actual size / 100%; check the preview and use fit to printable area if edges clip. You need a ZIP/PDF reader and printer access. Paper, ink and supplies are not included.

Household printing license

The purchasing household may print and reuse these pages with its own children. Files and printed pages may not be sold, redistributed, publicly uploaded, or used as a shared classroom or business resource. For use beyond one household, contact WonderKidsToy through the store before copying.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a physical product or a digital download?

Which paper sizes are included, and must I print every file?

Choose one of the A4 or US Letter editions in Color or Low Ink. All four repeat the same content.

What supplies do we need?

Paper and a pencil for the worked cases. Optional: a solar toy already owned, its exact instruction manual and an adult supervising normal, manufacturer-approved use. No robot or power equipment is included.

What ages is this for?

Suggested ages: 7-10. Ages are flexible guides, not assessments. Adult reading and discussion support are welcome.

Can I share the files or use them for a class?

No. The license covers the purchasing household and its own children, not sharing, resale, classroom or business use.

Does this pack teach me to build or power a robot?

No. It is an observation log. Any optional toy must already be suitable for normal, adult-supervised use under its own manual.
