Bring counting back to something a child can see, point to and make. Numbers One to Twenty Play Mats offers counting worksheets for 1-20, with one number at a time rather than a crowded page of unrelated sums. Use them for a short, adult-supported counting session at home.
Inside Numbers One to Twenty Play Mats
Twenty number mats for 1-20 combine a numeral and number word with counting frames and space to show the quantity another way. Includes a worked example, number path, three replay games and caregiver answer support.
- 20 number mats.
- 27 pages per edition, including guides and answer or support pages.
- Suggested ages 3-6, with adult support.
The emphasis is on connecting a written number with a visible amount. These are number mats and replay ideas, not a timed test or a handwriting course.
How to use this pack
Begin with the worked example and a number your child already recognizes. Point to the numeral, say its number word and add that many marks to the empty counting frame. Use the separate space to show the quantity another way.
Choose a few mats rather than printing or completing all twenty at once. A finger, pencil dots or crayon marks can stand in for loose counters. Return to the number path and three replay games when you want to revisit familiar quantities in a different way.
Worked example and quantity guidance; numerals and number prompts are checked.
Materials and safe use
Paper and a pencil or crayon. Optional: large, age-appropriate counters that fit comfortably in the boxes. Finger pointing and pencil dots work just as well.
Adults choose all materials. Small counters, cut paper pieces and toy parts are not suitable for children who mouth objects. Do not use food as a required counter. A finger or pencil mark avoids loose pieces.
Your files and printing choices
The download ZIP contains four PDF editions plus a README. Each has the same 27 pages. Choose ONE edition to print:
- A4 Color (210 x 297 mm).
- A4 Low Ink (210 x 297 mm).
- US Letter Color (8.5 x 11 inches).
- US Letter Low Ink (8.5 x 11 inches).
27 pages means pages per edition, not four times that amount of different content. Covers, guides and answer or support pages are included in the page count. The English-language PDFs are printable, not digitally fillable forms.
Open the ZIP, read the README and choose your paper size and color preference. Print selected pages portrait and single-sided. Start at actual size / 100%; check the preview and use fit to printable area if edges clip. You need a ZIP/PDF reader and printer access. Paper, ink and supplies are not included.
Household printing license
